Turdcucken Arrives in Mail

There will definitely be a turducken in my future. More to come...

Pro: My mom and dad liked the turducken and said it was particularly aromatic and the turkey meat was quite flavorful. The cooking juice was very tasty as a broth (Smithsfield ham and bamboo shoots).

Con: My parents overcooked the turducken because they didn't trust the cook-in thermometer I specifically bought for the purpose, then they dissembled the turducken in a manner that rendered it fairly inedible as leftover.

The turducken was promising enough that I'm going to send one to my boyfriends' parents for Christmas - I really need to supervise the cooking.

Main lesson: don't mailorder food to my parents and then expect them to follow any of my instructions. In retrospect, I guess I was asking for trouble.

Bonus leftover cleanup idea: instead of tortillas, try wrapping Thanksgiving leftover with warm sushi rice and seaweed wrappers.
